Aaliyah Nicole was born on September 21, 1992 to Pastor Ira J. Acree and Margaret Acree. in Chicago, IL. She was born as Nicole Marie Acree. Aaliyah Nicole was adopted as her stage name after friends started calling her "Nicole Aaliyah" because of her love for her idol, the late Aaliyah Dana Haughton. Aaliyah Nicole is also credit frequently as Slick Nick.
Aaliyah Nicole led her first solo at church when she was six years old. She began writing material at the age of ten, but it wasn't until the age of twelve when she discovered her true passion for music. She wears many musical hats: The CEO of M.W.M. Productions, a producer, songwriter, rapper, singer, poet and host. Aaliyah Nicole has made a number of musical moves at her young age. She has hosted Anti-Violence Showcases, Open Mics and Nursing Home Showcases in local Chicago communities. She has performed at numerous venues and has opened up for "Curt Chambers" (Grammy Nominated Songwriter for Jaheim - Finding My Way Back) in November of 2010.
Aaliyah Nicole connected with Power92 Chicago Radio's own, D.J. Anton who is committed to helping M.W.M. Productions go to the next level in the music industry. She gives all the honor to God for her numerous gifts and is determined to use them for the good of the kingdom. She hopes to be the "musical light" of her generation and the generations to come. Positive music does sell and Aaliyah Nicole is determined to prove her theory.
